Dear Parents, Players and Coaches-
We are just about ready to finish a very productive week for the soccer program, beginning with double sessions at Huntley, encompassing the opening of school and our first parent information meeting, and concluding with the process of finalizing the rosters for the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Reserve Teams. I am enclosing all three rosters, which will also be posted at the high school on the soccer bulletin board outside the athletic office, and posted on the Web Log (below).
The process of finalizing teams has been necessitated by several factors, including the need to take photographs tomorrow for the program book. That process will begin immediately after school for the Junior Varsity team, followed by the Reserve team at 3:30 and the varsity team at 4:00.
These rosters are nearly complete, but they will continue to be works in progress and we reserve the right to make changes when necessary. All three coaches have been in regular consultation, and we have deliberated carefully. We are aware that there may be mistakes which need correction. Errors of omission will be corrected immediately. We also reserve the right to move players between teams when this is in the best interest of the teams and players involved. This will not happen regularly, and it will not happen in the next 48 hours. However, I am in touch with several players who wish to discuss the process of team selection, am eager to engage every player in the program with regard to team placement and more importantly what they can do to develop as players. Players who make a commitment to improving will always have the opportunity to advance in this program. They will also need to continue to put their trust in a process which values the best interests of every player, which means balancing the needs of 76 participants in the program.
